Who we are
Backtwofront Technologies is built around a simple but powerful idea: start with the person using the software, then work backwards. Technology should not exist for its own sake, nor should it ask people to bend themselves around unnecessary complexity. The aim is to design and build software that feels clear, useful, respectful, and practical tools that solve real problems without adding friction, noise, or hidden cost.
At its heart, Backtwofront is an R&D-led company. It is a place for exploring ideas, testing concepts quickly, and turning small sparks into working prototypes. Some projects may become full products, some may remain experiments, and some may simply teach us something valuable along the way. That freedom to explore is part of the identity. It allows the company to move across different spaces... developer tools, privacy first apps, educational games, accessibility ideas, productivity software, and creative utilities... while still keeping the same underlying principles.
Privacy, ownership, and simplicity matter deeply here. Backtwofront projects often lean towards offline-first design, minimal dependency on accounts, and avoiding unnecessary tracking or data collection. The question is not “how much can we extract from the user?” but “how much value can we give them while asking for as little as possible?” That distinction is important. It reflects a belief that good software should feel like something you own, not something that owns you.
To be at Backtwofront Technologies is to be part of a workshop of ideas. It is creative, practical, occasionally chaotic, and deliberately independent. It is about building from curiosity, but grounding that curiosity in usefulness. It is about making things that are small enough to understand, strong enough to rely on, and thoughtful enough to respect the people who use them.
